Sarova Lion Hill Game Lodge is positioned on Lion Hill within Lake Nakuru National Park, overlooking Lake Nakuru and the surrounding wildlife habitat. The lodge is designed in a chalet-style layout, with its rooms and suites arranged along the hillside and oriented toward the gardens, lake and park landscape.
The lodge's location inside the national park means guests can combine their accommodation with game-viewing activities without having to commute from a hotel outside the park each day. Lake Nakuru is known for its rhinos, giraffes, lions, buffaloes, zebras and diverse birdlife, while flamingos can be present at different times of the year depending on lake conditions.
The current Sarova fact sheet lists 62 chalet-style cottages and three suites. The accommodation includes standard rooms, interconnecting family rooms, junior suites and a presidential suite. All rooms are located on the ground floor and have patios overlooking either the gardens or lake.
The standard rooms are available in single, double, twin and triple configurations. They feature private patios, en-suite bathrooms, permanent showers and WC, hot and cold running water, mosquito nets, hairdryers and tea- and coffee-making facilities.
For families, the lodge provides interconnecting rooms. The current fact sheet identifies 20 family rooms among its accommodation inventory.
Sarova Lion Hill has three suites: two junior suites and one presidential suite according to the current fact sheet.
The Ziwa Suite, whose name means "lake" in Swahili, is the presidential suite. It is located in a more isolated position and has a large private terrace and dining area, separate lounge, fireplace, minibar, television and lake views. Its bathroom includes an en-suite shower and WC together with a bathtub.
The Chui and Faru suites are two-bedroom suites named after the Swahili words for leopard and rhino. They include private patios, separate lounge areas, fireplaces, lake views, bathtubs and en-suite bathrooms.

The lodge's main restaurant is the Flamingo Restaurant, which is described by Sarova as a rustic-style restaurant offering continental buffet menus. Guests can dine indoors or on the covered patio overlooking the gardens and lake.

Safari and Nature Experiences
Staying at Sarova Lion Hill places guests directly within Lake Nakuru National Park, allowing them to incorporate game drives into their itinerary.
The lodge highlights game viewing opportunities for animals including white and black rhinos, lions, leopards, buffaloes, zebras and giraffes. Bird watching is another important experience because Lake Nakuru supports a diverse range of bird species.
The lodge also offers activities around the property, including nature walks, bird feeding and outdoor recreation.
Sarova Lion Hill Game Lodge is located inside Lake Nakuru National Park, off the Old Nairobi Road in Nakuru County, Kenya. It sits on Lion Hill, overlooking Lake Nakuru and the park.
The current Sarova fact sheet places the lodge approximately 160 kilometres from Nairobi, with a road journey of around 2.5–3 hours, depending on traffic and road conditions. Access to the park is available through the Lanet and Nderit gates.
For visitors arriving by air, the lodge's fact sheet identifies Naishi Airstrip as an access point, with a flight from Nairobi's Wilson Airport taking approximately 30 minutes.
The lodge's location is particularly useful for travellers whose main objective is exploring Lake Nakuru National Park. Being inside the park allows guests to stay close to the wildlife-viewing areas rather than travelling into the park from accommodation located in Nakuru town.
The elevated Lion Hill setting also provides the lodge with broad views across the lake and surrounding park landscape. This is one of the defining characteristics of the property and is reflected in the design of its chalet-style accommodation and terraces.
